Film „The Runway“ (Die Rollbahn”) soon in French?
Applications will be submitted soon to finance the French Version of “The Runway” (Die Rollbahn)
The film “The Runway” (Die Rollbahn) by directors Malte Rauch and Eva Voosen features the story of the Walldorf Concentration Camp in which Margit-Horvath was an inmate. But beyond it shows how this topic subsequently had been rolled up by more and more people and finally made it into the minds of the public in Walldorf and surrounding area. The film was released in 2003 in German and so far translated into English and Hungarian. To the idea also to translate it into French many contributed: personal relationships between Margit-Horvath-Stiftung and individuals in Vitrolles/France were vital – in particular to schools there, Vitrolles and Mörfelden-Walldorf are twin towns – as well as Magda Hollander-Lafon, a former inmate who lives in Rennes/France, as well as teachers of history there. Nazitime is still shaping the image of young people in France about Germany. One of the concerns of Margit-Horvath-Stiftung is therefore to intensify the dialogue with them on the history of and the causes that led to the Walldorf Concentration Camp. The translation of “The Runway” was a complimentary work by Annik Perigault, a teacher of German in Rennes. We are very grateful. In order to realise the French Version of the film we are now looking for sponsors, applications will be submitted soon (ich finde, das ist unverständlich – was für Anträge warden gestellt, wo?)
