New Work and Study Camp in preparation

Also this year the Margit-Horvath-Stiftung will be organising a Camp for young adults that most likely will take place in October in Poland (during Fall school recess in the German State of Hesse). Focus will be again on the history of Holocaust and anti-Semitism. Essential element of the concept is to involve young adults from the host country – in this case from Poland - to work alongside participants from abroad. Work to be conducted will include research in local libraries and archives, interviews with contemporary witnesses of the Second World War and the Shoah, etc. Also constituent part of the Camp will be issues currently moving the Polish Society, thereby Polish films and literature will be analysed, i.a.. Ultimate purpose is to enable participants to draw their own conclusions against the actual situations in their home countries in terms of degree of racism and anti-Semitism prevalent, and to help them identify the individual roles they can play within their home nations against the background of the Europe of today. A partner organisation in Poland for cooperation is currently being identified. Part of the Camp will be a visit to Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
